It's home of just over 2,500 people. Although a small town, Pinkney is still a fun and enjoyable place to visit. Due to Pinckney's size, there is more of a home-town mentality and feel to the area. Pinkney is home to Pinkney Community Schools which consist of Pinkney High School, Pathfinder Middle School, Navigator Middle School, Country Elementary and Farley Hill Elementary. Lakeland, Pinkney, and Hamburg Elementary Schools have been closed due to the lack of residents in the area.

Pinckney is home to a great number of cultural and exciting events. Not only in the summer but all year long. That means during any season you'll find plenty of fun and exciting places to go, people to see, and great events to take part in if you're in Pinckney. You'll be able to find such events as the Saint Patrick's Day Parade, as well as Art in the Park and Hootin' in the Park village events and more. Pinckney is also home to an annual parade on Memorial Day where countless organizations throughout the community participate in the parade. A few of the organizations participating are from Pinckney High School, including sports teams and of course the Pinckney High School Marching Band.

If you're a lover of all things outdoors then you're in luck. Pinckney is a great area for people who love the outdoors. The most popular place to visit is Pinckney Recreation Area and Bruin Lake. Pinckney Recreation Area and Bruin Lake is a great place for family camping, kayaking, tubing, enjoying the fun and sun, and more. You'll be able to take part in events such as beach volley ball, cross country skiing, and more. If you're into camping then Pinckney Recreation Area and Bruin Lake is the place for you!
